Habitat for Humanity Québec is embarking on its first major fundraising campaign, the first phase of which aims to raise $2.5 million from all its partners and collaborators.
The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) indicates a need for 620,000 units for Québec by 2030 to restore housing affordability in the province. Habitat for Humanity Québec is part of the solution, enabling modest-income families to acquire a home with no down payment, an interest-free mortgage, and amortization periods tailored to their financial ability to meet the 30% threshold considered affordable. All this, thanks to the construction of housing units in collaboration with partners and donors.
We believe that affordable home ownership leads to stronger families and communities, and a more equitable society. Living in a healthy, decent and safe home brings quickly quantifiable benefits.
A financial, human and sustainable model
Habitat for Humanity Québec impact on the families it supports and on the community is based on an inspiring and proven intervention model, in which everyone has a role to play. And it works!
Over the next 5 to 6 years, this momentum will enable us to complete other construction projects and offer nearly twenty new families affordable property.
Here, for example, is our 6plex project in Lachine, which will give six partner families access to home ownership as early as summer 2024!
Lay your brick with us, and help us build a better future for Québec families and communities, one home at a time.
« Being a Habitat for Humanity homeowner has allowed us to live a quality life with peace of mind, and to raise our children in a calmer, more family-oriented environment. What's more, Habitat accompanies and guides us through the entire acquisition process, throughout our partnership. We're very proud to be part of this great family. »
